I was hoping I might be able to find all or any - obit, death date, place of death, spouse and maybe children.

I'm looking for stuff, but so far havent found anything you dont already have, except his WWII records states a birth year of 1911 instead of 1912 and (not sure if you knew this or not) that he is single with no dependants

the 1930 census has a Robert L Donaldson listed in King county Washington, age 18, a boarder, states father was born in Illinois, mother born in Kansas...working as an attendant at a gas station

it also lists a Ruth C Donaldson age 16, also as a boarder, same birth place for parents as Robert, occupation is a stenographer for a lawyer

Okay, following the above family back to 1920

we have

Robert, Ruth, Mary, Mildred, Dora and (it appears to me) Lasca (female) listed as step children living with Charles and Edith Marsden in King co Washington

I have the 1920 Census, but can not get any 1930 census because Hertiage Quest has not indexed them. In order for me to find anyone I would have to go line by line through the entire Seattle census. Edith was Edith Faylor, she had married CL Donaldson but was divorced. That is why they are listed as step children. I has his birth date as 11 Nov 1912. I not sure why the difference.

I got the family in 1910 before Robert was born. It state both father and mother born in Kansas.
Now to get the info on Robert after 1942.
And that appears to be the trick

Good girl...I found husband and children for Lasca and that is as much as I have found so far. That specific tree has no info on a family for Robert.

up at the top in the middle of the screen you will see something that says page with arrows on either side and one that says image with arrows

click the arrow on the right of image once then click the arrow on the right of page once, it will take you to page 41 B of district 213 Robert is on line 61

yeah, she is the wife of the Ralph Nagley on the 1930 census that Robert and Ruth are living with...hmmm wonder why they are listed as boarders, not in laws?

There is very little information on here.
It says she was born Dec. 26, 1901 in Washington. Died Feb. 1985 in Seattle
Married to James Hogan (born July 15, 1896in NOrth Dakota)) had one child Carol Jean (born Aug. 24, 1922 in Seattle)
Married Ralph J. Nagley (Dec. 19,1899 Pennsylvania - Nov. 6, 1973 Fontana, San BErnadino, Calif.)

Carol Jean Married James Gould (Dec. 29,1917 Ohio - Jan. 5,1984 Lynn Haven FL) They mention only one child and he/she is still living

That pretty much covers it.

Something's wrong here.

Lasca Donaldson b. 1901 d. 1985 was the first daughter of the union of CL Donaldson and ES Faylor. They had 6 kids in all. Robert L. (the only male) was the 5th and Ruth C. was the last child.

Lasca is found on the 1910, WA, King, Seattle census with brother and sisters.

Somewhere between 1910 and 1920 CL Donaldson and ES Faylor divorced. She took the kids and married C Marsden. On the 1920, WA, King, Seattle census the kids are listed as step children.

Lasca's first marriage was to Ralph Nagley and they are listed on the 1930, WA, King, Seattle census with Robert L. and Ruth C. I don't know who Carol Jean was but as far as I know Ralph was Lasca's first marriage. The kids (Robert and Ruth) are with Lasca because Edith died in 1928.

Sometime later Lasca married a Mr. Pitts (info unknown) and died as a Pitts and can be found with the SS# 531-03-5372.

So if you have something on James Hogan and his daughter would you please share?

Funeral services for Carl L. Donaldson, 70 years old, of Woodinville, will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow in the chapel of Arthur A. Wright and Son, with burial in Evergreen Memorial Park. Mr. Donaldson died Tuesday at Madigan General Hospital.
Mr. Donaldson, a native of Burlington, Kas., came to Seattle 48 years ago. He moved to Woodinville seven years ago. Mr. Donaldson was a post office supervisor in Seattle for 36 years before his retirement in 1942. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He was a member of the Central Church of the Nazarene and Fortson – Thygesen Camp 2, United Spanish War Veterans.
Surviving are his wife Anne; two sons, Robert L. and Carl L. Donaldson, both of Seattle; five daughters, Miss Ruth Donaldson, Mrs. Lasca Pitts, Mrs. Mildred Campbell and Mrs. Mary Hayes, all of Seattle, and Mrs. Dolores A. Curry, Edmonds; a brother, Burt H. Donaldson, Seattle; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

I guess that's kind of why I am stuck on the Pitts name.

Who was James Hogan and Carol Jean Hogan and why does someone think that Lasca Donaldson, Nagley, Pitts is related to them?
