Lol, you've got a great sense of humor about your ancestors. I know a lot of people who would try to hide the "banjos" playing in their family tree, but we all have them. I keep telling my mom that I'm determined to connect her relatives to my dad's. Shes not amused.

Hey Casey,

My HARRIS':

MOURNING HARRIS (dau. of CHRISTOPHER HARRIS) was born 31 Oct 1783, and died in Madison Co, Kentucky. She married ZACHARIAH THARP 11 Oct 1799 in Madison, Kentucky, son of THOMAS THARP and ELIZABETH HOLLADAY. He was born 1778 in Elk Creek, Bedford, Virginia, and died Abt. 1845 in Madison Co, Kentucky.

LEACH:

HAZEL LEACH (dau. of JACOB LEACH) was born in 1916 in Cromwell, Ohio Co, Kentucky. She married my great uncle Lee Wheelock.

There might definitely be a connection there though not with me. wink.gif

MYERS:

From the late 1700's in PA then married into another family.

YOUNG:

FRED YOUNG (b. 1915 in Los Angeles) married my great aunt Vivian Gray around 1950.

Ooooh, I have Gray's coming out my ears. It was my paternal grandma's maiden name and they liked to travel. It seemed they were in a different state for every census.

Let's see, they began in Londonderry, Ireland then to Boston in 1740 then to St Lawrence Co, NY in 1792ish then off to Iowa and Kansas then to Colorado and finally California. They also stopped in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas along the way. They weren't much for sticking around in one place.

Ha, I'm trying to do the same thing with my mom and dad though I wouldn't dare tell my mom. I'm just scared that there really will be some connection somewhere knowing this family. My dad's side is crazy. I've found at least 3 instances of it. The first happens to be interesting. My 6th ggrandmother was Dorthea Randolph and she married John Woodson (b. 1730). She was also Thomas Jefferson's aunt. Dorthea's daughter Annie Woodson (Jefferson's first cousin and my 5th ggrandmother) married her second cousin John Stephens Woodson. I remember thinking how I hate it when someone puts the married name instead of the maiden only to find out, uh, it was her maiden name.

The worst one I've found is someone marrying their first cousin once removed. Thankfully, not a direct relation. I already should have been born with 9 heads and I'm not even from the South! wink.gif
