Thanks for posting the Compiled Cards for James P. Ballentine. James was born about 1838 in Anderson County, South Carolina, the son of Jesse H and Mary Wardlaw Ballentine. He died 15 July 1862 in Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond, Virginia from his wounds and thyphoid fever. He left a wife, Melissa Staunton Ballentine and one daughter, Mary Alice Ballentine (1860-1920).
